Flisti is a tool that can poll students’ opinions and/or knowledge about a given topic. The poll can be easily created online, then shared or embedded on a web page. Working with the information gathered can then steer discussions or assist in planning further instruction.
Pros:
- Is an easy way to gather quick information from students.
- Allows students to respond to questions and remain anonymous which encourages sharing of ideas and comments.
- Allows using percentages and visuals that can enhance understanding and allows for different ways of communicating information.
- Takes advantage of polls right before beginning a new unit or module can help instructors decide if the planning and the scaffolding that is prepared will be suitable for the lesson.
- Reviews knowledge before a formal assessment takes place allowing you to make predictions on the ability of learners to successfully complete tests and exams.
Cons:
- Are by default anonymous. So personal responses will need to be elicited using different tools.
- Remains on the site so they should be deleted once they have served their purpose.
