Creating Mindmaps

Text2MindMap - Instructor Ideas

Instructors can use mind mapping tools (Text2MindMap) to:

  • Brainstorm ideas for the various parts (structure, purpose, audience and message) for writing memos, letters, stories, etc.
  • Create a general thread on a topic or vocabulary word in a mindmap and have learners in pairs or triads add to the mindmap helping in their review of previously learned vocabulary and concepts
  • Create class projects on any topic where learners will complete a mind map, by adding definitions, sections, categories and more, to initial general threads
  • Create visual outlines of topics to be covered
  • Illustrate linkages between words, terms, grammar, etc.
  • Introduce vocabulary on a daily basis with their classes
  • Organize information in order to write lessons, reports, projects, etc.
  • Organize thoughts and ideas for writing reports
  • Set up projects where learners would incorporate mind maps and text to organize content and may include numerous map show relationships between concepts
