Polling Online

Flisti - Instructor Ideas

The instructor can use online polling (Flisti) to:

  • Assist learners in developing skills in understanding poll results
  • Check learners' awareness of topics such as ‘Are you aware of the Canadian practices, standards and guidelines?’
  • Collect quick data to develop graphs and show how data can be used
  • Create an ERROR QUIZ for your learners that has 4 sentences, some correct and some not; learners choose the sentence with the grammatical errors; see example - http://flisti.com/27725
  • Create questions for polling to obtain feedback from learners on any topic by entering question and possible answers
  • Create questions or statements on the content that can be used as a mini-quiz to assess learners’ understanding
  • Create vocabulary questions and check learners’ understanding
  • Develop a poll to include on a class wiki or blog to capture learners' views at any time for summative or formative feedback
  • Develop questions/ answers about research skills such as ‘Where would you go to find more information about this topic?’
  • Have learners create polls about what they are interested in and allow others time to respond
  • Vote for correct answers, project ideas or social issues in current events
  • Poll learners at the start of a unit to determine their existing knowledge
  • Question learners on processes such as where they can find more information on a topic such as professional practice and ethics, what are Canadian expectations?
  • Survey students as to their knowledge of a topic or upcoming content as a pre-lesson activity
