Pre-Lesson Perspective

“Pre-Lesson Perspective” is an introductory activity that utilizes Flisti.com to poll or survey online with the intent to check on learner knowledge before the lesson.

Outcomes:

The learner will be able to:

  • Use online poll as a way to voice an opinion
  • Create a poll to gather information
  • Summarize results of poll

Preparation:

  • Create poll about subject; have students do the poll before class

Delivery:

  1. Presentation
    • Share poll results with class
    • Examples:

  2. Practice
    • In pairs, learners can post a question around engineering ethics
    • Gather results from the polls and discuss; are the results expected?
  3. Production
    • Summarize results in one paragraph; were the learners surprised about the results? What did they learn as a result of the poll?
